Privacy Policy

What plainjs.com collects, what the Run buttons and the copy buttons do in your browser, how advertising works on the site, and your choices.

This policy describes what information plainjs.com collects and how it is used. The site is published by Webhaus LLC, 2108 N St, Ste 4030, Sacramento, CA 95816, USA, which is responsible for the data described here. Last updated October 30, 2026.

Information the site collects

plainjs.com has no accounts and does not ask for personal information to read its pages. The web server and Cloudflare, which delivers the site, keep standard access logs (IP address, browser type, page requested and time of request) for security and troubleshooting. The server’s logs are deleted on a rolling basis; Cloudflare’s processing is governed by its own privacy policy.

If you email the editor, your message and address are kept only as long as needed to respond.

What runs in your browser

  • The Run buttons execute the code shown on a page inside your own browser. Nothing you do with them is sent to the publisher. Example requests to https://example.test/ are answered inside the page and never leave your browser.
  • The copy buttons put the code on your clipboard. Nothing is recorded.
  • Dark mode follows your system setting. If you switch it by hand, your choice is kept in your browser’s local storage so it applies on your next visit; it is not sent anywhere.

The site’s own pages set no cookies.

Advertising

The site shows one advertisement per page, served by Google AdSense in its non-personalized mode: the ad is chosen from the page you are on, not from your browsing history, which is why the site shows no consent banner. Google may still use cookies or similar technologies for frequency capping, aggregated ad reporting and fraud prevention. How Google uses data from sites that show its ads is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can manage ad settings at adssettings.google.com.

Analytics

The site runs no analytics script at present. If one is added to count page views in aggregate, this page will say so and the date at the top will change. No analytics data would be sold.

The directory links to each library’s repository, package registry entry and CDN files, and snippet pages link to MDN and other documentation. Following a link takes you to a site with its own privacy policy. The site has no affiliate links.

Children

The site is written for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices and rights

You can block cookies in your browser, manage advertising through Google’s settings, and ask for any email correspondence to be deleted by writing to the address on the contact page. You can ask what personal information the publisher holds about you and ask for its deletion; the answer is normally that the publisher holds nothing beyond any email you sent. Readers in the European Union and the United Kingdom have these rights under the GDPR; readers in California have the rights described in the CCPA, and the site does not sell personal information.

Changes

This policy may change as the site adds features, such as the library submission form. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
